I am a fan of Calvin and Hobbes. I came across this strip from http://progressiveboink.com/archive/calvinhobbes.htm
in which are listed the 'Top 25 Great Calvin and Hobbes Strips'. (I hope I have covered all copyright issues, lets c, referenced the source and everything, hehe)
This one is possibly one of my favorites. Calvin points out the faults in the education system so easily that it boggles your mind. After reading this strip I remember the story Mumbai Mirror had published where in they tested the GK of HSC toppers and they did really bad on it.

Most scholars (please note I have written most, if you are a scholar in studies and also in other things, Im happy for you) in India are good at memorizing information and just regurgitating it in exams.....not knowing what it actually means. Most (again...) of them are good in studies and thats about it! I have met people who I consider truly all rounders...they are smart in all aspects. They may not be THE top ranker but they end up doing very well in life. Those, I believe, are the true toppers and deserve all the good things in life that they worked so hard for!

School + extra tuition classes = 14 hours. Can't blame the students. I think its actually to do with their upbring. And uni-dimensional parenting is to blame.
I am not blaming anyone. Just pointing out the flaws. Its a cycle which has no beginning and no end. Its part of a system in which creativity is stunted and where in doctors and engineers are the only few accepted professions.
