Today's fortune: The heart is wiser than the intellect

This is my fortune for today on my orkut profile. Well, is it really???? When I have made decisions "listening" to my heart rather than using my head, I have always ended up on my a$$! And how is this a fortune anyways?? This is what you might find if you google 'quotations+to feel not so regretful'.
I think my fortune would have been more like 'you will do nothing today, nothing significant will come your way and you are going to meet NOONE special tonite!'.
Well, I do have to decide between staying in India and going back to the US. Oooo! Is this a hint as to what I shud do?!?!! If so, shouldnt it have said 'Orkut fortune is wiser than you heart AND your intellect'. Hmmm, maybe Im reading too much into this. But I still have to decide though, dont know who to listen to....my heart or my intellect???

This one is possibly one of my favorites. Calvin points out the faults in the education system so easily that it boggles your mind. After reading this strip I remember the story Mumbai Mirror had published where in they tested the GK of HSC toppers and they did really bad on it.

Most scholars (please note I have written most, if you are a scholar in studies and also in other things, Im happy for you) in India are good at memorizing information and just regurgitating it in exams.....not knowing what it actually means. Most (again...) of them are good in studies and thats about it! I have met people who I consider truly all rounders...they are smart in all aspects. They may not be THE top ranker but they end up doing very well in life. Those, I believe, are the true toppers and deserve all the good things in life that they worked so hard for!

To take or not to take!

So what happens when you mix a tortoise with......lets say, another tortoise?? Born are the dte people....! Gosh...its taking forever for the CAP rounds to finish and admissions into this year's Maharashtra MMS/MBA to be done.
Once upon a time, on Feb 17th the CET was held....wondering why it begins like a fairy tale?...oh yes, its a tale of time forgotten....but it aint no fairy tale.......! For me, the cet was better than expected...with a last minute decision (actually Jan7th) of taking the CET, few days of hard work and constant simCETs...I couldnt have done better (scored a 96.49%ile)..which is "decent". So you (and so would I) think that when the admissions process begins, you would be all set. But ofcourse how mistaken was I. Admissions began June end and even until now...the admissions arent done for most of us losers with now "crappy" 96%ile score!
I dont understand why couldnt the process be more like the CAT rounds, where in the colleges gets to decide whether to admit you. It would be more reasonable for the aspired college to decide whether I am good enough to be there. But never mind that!
Well, I gotta go....fill in my form for the next round beginning today....Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

First time

This is my first time blogging. I thought about it for a long time before I finally started. Hmm...I know there is nothing to think about but seriously, never fancied the world reading my thoughts. I would hate to be near someone who could read minds. But then....wats the big deal..right?
